Our team is competing in the San Diego Cricket Association Champions Trophy T20 tournament. We are the only youth team in the tournament.
Game 1 vs Beamers
We came off to a brilliant start in the game. We bowled first, keeping the powerplay tight and taking several wickets to force a collapse. Gaurav C. took 3/7 in 4 overs and Rohan K. took 3/19 in 4 overs early in the game. Vardaan S. came in and took 2/36 in 4 overs later. We also fielded excellently, and our fielding and bowling together held the total to 108/9. However, our batting was very poor, losing wickets throughout the innings, getting all out at 90. Siddharth M. scored 49 runs. We hope to perform better in our next game.
Game 2 vs Cougars
The day started with rain, and it looked like we might not have been able to play a game at all. Luckily, we were still able to play in a shortened 12 over game. We started with very tight bowling, but towards the end our bowlers got hit and Cougars ended up with an excellent total of 120/5. Our boys batted very well but fell short, scoring 97/3 in 12 overs. Siddharth M. led the way with 57 not out off of 39, and Idris A. scored 21 not out off of 13. A tough loss for the team, but we look forward to a better result next week.
Game 3 vs Lions
We batted first this game and saw good batting throughout the order to take the team to 109/6. Aditya A. scored 21 and Devam S. scored 19. However, we were not able to defend the total, losing it in the 19th over. We fought hard throughout the game, and hope for a better result next week.
Game 4 vs Mavericks
We did not fare well in the first innings, with the other team scoring 165/4 in 20 overs. Bilal M. took 1/11 in 4 overs. We were only able to score 102/8 in 20 overs. Pranav G. scored 31 runs and Rohan K. scored 27.
Game 5 vs Daredevils
We played our final game of the season. We scored 86/8 in 20 overs, but were not able to defend it, losing by 6 wickets. Rohan K. took 2/24 in 4 overs.
