Our U11 team traveled to Dallas to play a 4 game tournament. It was the first time for all of the players to travel to a tournament and play teams across the country.
Game 1 vs Denver Dynamites – Batting first, we put up 123/6 at the end of 30 overs. Ayaan B. scored 25 runs. We then had a brilliant second innings, getting the other team all out at 16. Rohan B. took a magnificent 6/7 in 6 overs with 2 maidens. Vivaan B. also took 3/6 in 3.4 overs. We are proud of our young team for winning their first tournament match ever.
Game 2 vs DYCL Bolts – We struggled batting first, putting up a low total of 58/6 in 20 overs. DYCL chased it down in 16.5 overs losing 3 wickets. Tejas C. took 1/5 in 3 overs.
Game 3 vs NWCC Cubs – We bowled very well in the first innings, restricting the other team to 87/5 in 20 overs. Ayaan B. took 1/14 in 4 overs with 1 maiden. However, we struggled with the bat, and ended up falling short by just 4 runs.
Game 4 vs NACA Falcons – We batted okay in the first innings, putting up 118/9 in 30 overs. Rohan B. scored 22 not out off of 21. We were not able to defend the total in the second innings, losing by 8 wickets.
Playing their first tournament was a great experience for our youngest players, and we look forward to many more in the future.
